Attractions
Each Christmas, Kilgore lights up its derricks, helping the city maintain its
title as the state's official "City of Stars." The lights are turned on the
first Saturday after Thanksgiving and remain lit until after
January 1.

Meeting Space
Kilgore has space for just about any small meeting. The Devall Student Center
at Kilgore College has facilities for a meeting ranging in size from 20 to 500
people. The Kilgore Community House has over 3,022 sq. ft. for meetings and
functions ranging from 20 to 100.

Golf Courses
Eight courses are within a 30-minute drive. Kilgore is the home of two courses:
Roy H. Laird Country Club, a nine hole country club with private memberships,
and Shallow Creek Golf Club, an 18 hole public course with memberships
available.

St. John Stadium
Is located at the intersection of Harris and Martin Streets, seats 9,500 for
football and soccer. The stadium is the home of the Kilgore High School
Bulldogs football team and the boys and girls soccer teams. The facility is
also the home of the Kilgore College Rangers football team. The stadium is also
the site for numerous post-season high school playoff games.

Driller Park - Home of the East Texas Pump Jacks
Is located on Hunter Street one block east of Commerce, seats 4,500 for
baseball. The stadium bears a Texas Historical Marker and is the home of the
Kilgore High School baseball team. The stadium is the site of numerous
post-season high school playoff games.

Masters Gymnasium
Is located on Broadway on the Kilgore College campus, seats 1,700 for
basketball. The gym was recently refurbished and has a new playing surface,
public address system, and seats. The gym is the home of the Kilgore College
men and women´s basketball teams. It is also the site for several high school
basketball tournaments and post-season playoff games.

Bulldog Gymnasium
Is located at 711 N. Longview Street on the grounds of Kilgore High School,
seats 500 for basketball and volleyball. The gym is the home for Kilgore High
School athletics and numerous post-season playoff games.

Kilgore Boys Baseball Complex
Is located at the intersection of Harris and Martin Streets, is the home of the
Kilgore Boys Baseball Association. Each spring over 500 boys and girls play
baseball on five fields. The site annually hosts numerous Dixie Youth Baseball
tournaments.
Kilgore Youth Softball/Kilgore Soccer Complex
Is located on State Highway 135 North, is the home of the Kilgore Youth
Softball Association and the Kilgore Soccer Association. Over 500 girls play
softball on four diamonds while over 600 boys and girls play soccer on five
fields.

Kilgore Public Library
The Kilgore Public Library is a French Provincial style building modeled after
the architecture found in Provence, a region in Southeast France that was
famous during the Middle Ages for its poetry and chivalry.

Kilgore Public Library as a historical site in 1990.
