Business Advocacy

The Kilgore Area Chamber of Commerce is highly involved in advocating on behalf of our business community and in educating business leaders about public policy issues relevant to their business. We stay abreast of the action in Congress, the State, and City Hall so that you can focus on running your business.

ADVOCATE

The Chamber advocates for local businesses by:

  • working to prevent anti-business legislation
  • advocating for pro-business legislation through our legislative agenda
  • researching and developing solutions to address business concerns
  • working closely with other business advocacy organizations to look out for the best interests of our investors, and
  • sending out to call-to-actions for investors to influence public policy
  • The East Texas Coalition goes to Austin each session, we partner with the Longview Chamber of Commerce, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce to lead a large contingency of investors to Austin during session as an East Texas Region meeting face-to-face with our elected officials on the issues that matter most to our business community

EDUCATE

To ensure the business community has a strong voice, we also work to educate business leaders about the issues. We:

  • send regular email updates on public policy topics and news
  • post regularly about issues, advocacy, and ways to get involved, and
  • hold events that get you face-to-face with political leaders that include the Capitol Connect and East Texas Coalition
